Background

Divergent Technologies was founded in 2014 by Kevin Czinger, a former investment banker and Coda Automotive founder, to replace conventional tooling with software. Its Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) couples generative design, metal 3D printing and fixtureless robotic assembly so different products can run on one line the same day.

The technology debuted in cars — the Blade prototype, the Czinger 21C hypercar, and structural parts for Aston Martin, McLaren and Bugatti — before pivoting toward defense.

Day-to-day leadership has passed to Czinger's son Lukas Czinger, a co-founder who joined in 2016 and became President and CEO around 2025; Kevin Czinger is now Executive Chairman.

In June 2026 the company unveiled Monolith One, a large-format metal printer it built in-house, and a second factory in Long Beach aimed at high-volume munition airframes.
