Terms of Service
Effective date: June 1, 2026
These Terms govern your use of battlepolicy.com (the "Service"), operated by Schuler Media LLC. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. What BattlePolicy is
BattlePolicy is an independent defense-technology news publication. We synthesize and aggregate reporting on defense tech, startups, and military developments, with attribution to the outlets and primary sources we draw on. The Service is publisher-operated: there is no user-generated content or community forum. The site and weekly newsletter are currently free, with no paywall.
2. Your account and the newsletter
You must be at least 18 to create an account or subscribe. You are responsible for any credentials and for activity under your account, and you agree to receive the service and newsletter emails you sign up for. Tell us at editor@battlepolicy.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Payments
BattlePolicy is currently free. If we introduce paid memberships, the billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be added here and you will be told before any charge is made.
4. Content and intellectual property
Our editorial materials — the synthesis, analysis, and original writing on the Service — are owned by Schuler Media LLC, all rights reserved. Rights in third-party material we quote, summarize, or link to remain with their owners. You may read and share the Service for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce or republish our content, scrape it with automated tools, or use it to train machine-learning systems without our written permission. Search engines and news aggregators may crawl the Service per our robots.txt for indexing only — not for full-text republication or model training.
5. Newsletter delivery
We make reasonable efforts to deliver the newsletter but do not guarantee uninterrupted delivery. You can unsubscribe at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to break the law using the Service, scrape or access it with unauthorized automated systems, interfere with its security or operation, reproduce its content without permission, impersonate anyone, harass others, or share account credentials.
7. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Our content is for general information only and is not professional, legal, financial, or operational advice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Schuler Media LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Third-party links
The Service links to third-party sites and reporting. We do not endorse and are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, fraudulent or unlawful use, or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
12. Changes
We may modify these Terms; changes take effect when posted. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
