ARX Robotics
ARX Robotics builds the Gereon modular UGV and Mithra OS fleet-autonomy software, enabling autonomous and retrofitted military ground vehicle operations for European armed forces.
Background
ARX Robotics was founded in Munich in 2022 by three former German Bundeswehr officers: Marc Wietfeld (CEO), Maximilian Wied (CFO), and Stefan Roebel (COO).
The military-operational backgrounds of its founders directly shaped the company's product philosophy around battlefield-proven requirements rather than laboratory specifications.
The company's two core offerings are the Gereon UGV platform — a modular unmanned ground vehicle designed for logistics, reconnaissance, casualty evacuation, and heavy transport — and Mithra OS, an AI-powered operating system that retrofits legacy military vehicles into networked autonomous units capable of fleet-level coordination.
ARX sells directly to European defence ministries and through institutional channels including the European Defence Agency.
As of mid-2026, the company employs approximately 140 people and counts six European armed forces among its confirmed customers. Partnerships with Daimler Truck and RENK extend its reach into defence mobility and software-defined vehicle integration.
