Background

Chaos Industries (legally Chaos, Inc.) is a Los Angeles defense-technology company founded in 2022 by John Tenet, Dr. Bo Marr, Gavin Hood and Brett Cummings; Tenet and Marr previously helped build counter-drone firm Epirus.

It markets what it calls Coherent Distributed Networks — software-defined radar and RF-sensing nodes synchronized to billionths of a second so dozens of small sensors act as one larger system, which the company says detects aerial threats minutes earlier than legacy radar. George J. Tenet, the former CIA director, joined as executive chairman in April 2025; former congressman Will Hurd is chief strategy officer.

The firm has raised over $1 billion across four rounds since 2022, scaling from prototype radar to its HYDRA hardware platform and Vanquish counter-drone radar.

It positions the systems for defending troops, borders and critical infrastructure against cheap drones and missiles that traditional air-defense radar struggles to track affordably. Reported revenue figures circulate via private-market aggregators but remain unconfirmed by the company.
