Background

Ukrainska Bavovna — UB — is a Ukrainian defence-technology company founded in 2024 that describes itself as a full-cycle integrator: research and development, manufacturing, combat testing, training and field support for unmanned and electronic systems.

A 2026 report puts it above 100 employees and names its founders as Dzianis Valantsevich and Kyril Jakimovic, both of Belarusian origin and based in the Czech Republic.

Its flagship is Last Shadow, designated LS-T200, a fixed-wing interceptor with an integrated guidance and targeting module built to counter Shahed/Geran, Gerbera and Molniya drones, both over cities and along the line of contact. Reported performance is roughly 300 km/h, a 5 km ceiling and video anti-spoofing protection.

Presented publicly in August 2026 at an event organised by the Technological Forces of Ukraine association, it had already completed NATO codification and begun production against Ukrainian Defence Forces supply contracts in April.

This is a different company from Bavovna.ai, the GPS-denied autonomous-flight software firm tracked separately in this directory.

No corporate link between the two is documented, and the shared word — bavovna, "cotton," Ukrainian slang for an explosion — is common branding rather than evidence of a relationship.

Financial footing

  • Distinct company from the separately tracked Bavovna.ai
  • Obtained a NATO Stock Number for the LS-T200 and began production against Ukrainian Defence Forces supply contracts
  • 122 km reached in combat trials against a 70 km design expectation, 300 km/h, 5 km ceiling
  • 100+ staff
  • JV with Czech Pavetra Aerospace for the Shuhai UAV and a jet-powered interceptor
  • Backers: n/a

No funding round, revenue or valuation has been disclosed. The company appears to be financed by Ukrainian defence procurement and by its Czech joint-venture activity rather than by venture capital.

The most substantive financial signal is the NATO Stock Number obtained for the LS-T200 in April 2026.

Codification is administratively unglamorous and commercially decisive: it is the precondition for an item to be procured through NATO supply channels, and very few Ukrainian interceptor makers have obtained one. It converts the product from something Ukraine buys into something an alliance member can buy.

Major customers & contracts

The Defence Forces of Ukraine are the disclosed customer, with the company stating it began fulfilling supply contracts after codification. Values are not public.

The export vehicle is a joint venture in the Czech Republic with Pavetra Aerospace, agreed in March 2026, to produce the Shuhai UAV and a jet-powered interceptor.

Given that the founders are already Czech-based, the joint venture reads less as an export deal than as the company's second home.

Competitive position

The LS-T200's competitive claim is range. Where NOCTIS's ZIRKA, Wild Hornets' Sting and General Cherry's Bullet are short-range quadcopter or FPV-derived interceptors optimised for cost, Last Shadow is a fixed-wing aircraft that reached 122 km in combat trials — an engagement envelope that lets it meet Shahed streams well before they reach a defended city rather than over it. That is a different mission from the rest of the Ukrainian interceptor field.

The corresponding weakness is unit economics. A 122 km fixed-wing airframe with an integrated guidance module cannot be built at the $2,000 that ZIRKA claims, and cost exchange is the whole argument for drone interceptors over missiles.

UB has not published a unit price, which in this segment usually means it is not the selling point.

Against European counter-UAS entrants, UB holds a NATO Stock Number, a fielded system and a Czech production route — a stronger export position than most Ukrainian competitors have assembled.

Against the jet-powered interceptor programmes now emerging in Ukraine, its planned Czech jet variant puts it in a race it has not yet demonstrated.

Battlefield relevance

Fielded. The LS-T200 completed NATO codification and entered production against Ukrainian Defence Forces contracts in April 2026, and in combat trials reached 122 km — well beyond the 70 km originally expected.

It is designed for urban defence and line-of-contact work against Shahed/Geran, Gerbera and Molniya targets. Individual interception counts have not been published.
