Wayren builds Singularity, a resilient tactical mesh communications platform that links radios, drones, vehicles and sensors into a single encrypted battlefield network.
Background
Wayren was founded in Tallinn in 2020 by Henry Härm, Oliver Tiit, and Tarmo Aia — three veterans of Estonia's cyber and defence community.
The founding thesis was that modern contested environments break conventional communications architectures, and that a software-defined mesh layer could restore battlefield data flow under degraded or denied conditions.
The company's sole product line is Singularity, a resilient communications platform designed to integrate radios, mobile devices, unmanned systems, vehicles, satellite links, and weapons into one encrypted network.
It is optimised for low-bandwidth, unstable or disrupted environments and emphasises situational awareness data flow rather than voice-centric legacy comms.
Wayren goes to market directly through MoD procurement channels and accelerator ecosystems. It secured its first field validation through the Estonian Defence League pilot and has expanded trials to the Estonian Defence Forces and Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The company participates in NATO DIANA Phase 2 and holds backing from the Estonian Ministry of Defence and European Defence Fund, anchoring it firmly in the NATO innovation pipeline. Headcount is not publicly disclosed.
