Wild Hornets
Kyiv miltech maker of FPV combat and interceptor drones, best known for the Sting anti-Shahed interceptor; a donation-funded non-profit fund plus registered LLC.
Background
Wild Hornets is a Kyiv-based Ukrainian miltech maker of FPV combat and interceptor drones, created in spring 2023 by engineers tied to the Separate Presidential Brigade's anti-tank unit. Unusually for the sector it operates as a non-profit charitable fund (with a registered LLC for corporate and military partnerships) and is donation-funded rather than investor-backed — roughly 60% of donations come from abroad.
Its flagship Sting interceptor is built to knock down Shahed-type loitering munitions and recorded a breakthrough Shahed intercept in May 2025; the portfolio also includes the Queen Hornet bomber/mothership and the Wally night-attack drone. Co-founder Dmytro Prodanyuk leads the effort, which has scaled from a handful of drones a month to one of Ukraine's largest 3D-print farms.
