EA-37B Compass Call

A US Air Force airborne electronic-attack aircraft that transfers the Compass Call mission from the EC-130H to a modified Gulfstream G550.

Overview

The EA-37B Compass Call is a crewed airborne electronic-warfare platform built to disrupt an adversary's use of the electromagnetic spectrum. It carries the Compass Call mission from the retired EC-130H onto a modified Gulfstream G550 business jet, according to the Air & Space Forces aircraft guide. Its target set includes communications, radar and navigation functions, although frequencies, waveforms, effective ranges and specific operational effects remain classified or otherwise not publicly established.

L3Harris Technologies integrates and modifies the air vehicle, BAE Systems supplies the core mission system, and Gulfstream Aerospace provides the G550 airframe. The Air & Space Forces aircraft guide reported five aircraft delivered and described a planned fleet moving from ten toward twelve after Congress added two aircraft. That figure is a dated program snapshot rather than confirmation that twelve operational aircraft have been fielded.
