The Army's autonomous breaching package finished two weeks of live fire at Fort Bragg built almost entirely from small-vendor hardware, and goes to Fort Irwin in October.
The Army spent Aug. 17–28 at Range 63 on Fort Bragg running a pickup truck through the job it most wants to stop assigning to people: cutting lanes through mines and wire while under drone attack. Project Sandhills 2.0, managed by the 20th Engineer Brigade under the XVIII Airborne Corps, put the package through live fire with soldiers building digital routes and dispatching the trucks to execute the breach.
