WINFLY Spider

The WINFLY Spider is a reusable Ukrainian interceptor UAV that catches hostile drones with a replaceable net, offering a low-cost alternative to expendable ramming interceptors.

A reusable Ukrainian interceptor UAV designed to entangle hostile drones with a replaceable net and return for another sortie.

Overview

The WINFLY Spider is a reusable counter-uncrewed-aircraft interceptor unveiled by the Ukrainian defence-technology company WINFLY in August 2026. Unlike one-way interceptors that ram their targets, Spider carries a net launcher intended to entangle a hostile drone's rotors while preserving the interceptor airframe. The aircraft then returns to its launch point for reloading and reuse, according to launch coverage by United24 Media.

Spider combines WINFLY's existing WINFLY 10 Hunter platform with the lightweight KARAKURT-K2 launcher. Ukrainian reporting places the cost of each expendable net at approximately $27, although the aircraft's unit cost has not been disclosed. Its reported speed of up to 160 km/h positions it against comparatively slow propeller-driven attack and reconnaissance UAVs rather than emerging jet-powered one-way attack drones.
