US Central Command announced Tuesday it has agreed with the United Arab Emirates to stand up Task Force Talon Synapse, its first bilateral task force built to accelerate military AI applications, The National reported.
The unit will be based in Abu Dhabi and staffed by roughly 20 American and Emirati personnel drawn from AI, data and cybersecurity, with a formal launch "in the coming weeks." The agreement also follows a shift in US export policy. Washington raised the UAE's export status this month, easing Emirati access to advanced AI chips, The National noted in earlier coverage. Abu Dhabi established the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019 as part of a longer push to position itself as a regional AI center.
