Overview

Kozak-2 is a wheeled armored vehicle developed by the private Ukrainian company NPO Practika for Ukraine's Armed Forces, National Guard and State Border Guard Service. Its baseline configuration combines an Iveco EuroCargo 4Γ—4 truck chassis with an armored body and a V-shaped underside. Army Technology describes configurations for patrol and reconnaissance, mobile command post, ambulance, cargo and repair, and special operations.

The vehicle belongs to the wider Kozak family, whose members use different chassis, hull arrangements and drivetrains. Kozak-2M1 introduces a monocoque hull and independent suspension, while Kozak-5 and Kozak-7 use Ford F-550 chassis. These differences matter when interpreting protection ratings, seating capacities and performance figures, as the profiles in European Security & Defence and Defence Express demonstrate.

Kozak-2 deliveries began in 2015, followed by formal Armed Forces adoption in March 2017, according to Army Technology and Army Recognition. Its reference role is protected mobility with optional mounted weapons. The specifications below describe the baseline Kozak-2; figures for later relatives are identified separately.
