An Iranian-derived, two-stage solid-propellant medium-range ballistic missile fielded by Yemen's Houthi movement for long-range strikes against Israel.

Overview

Palestine-2, also rendered as Falastin-2, is a road-mobile ballistic missile operated by Yemen's Houthi movement, or Ansar Allah. The Houthis describe it as a domestically manufactured "hypersonic" weapon with a range of up to 2,150 km, a maximum speed of Mach 16 and high maneuverability. Independent assessments instead identify it as an Iranian-supplied or Iranian-derived solid-propellant missile whose publicly demonstrated characteristics do not establish that it is a hypersonic glide or maneuvering weapon.

The missile gives the Houthis a solid-fuel system capable of reaching central Israel from Yemen, complementing the movement's liquid-propellant Toufan family. It entered operational use in 2024 and has been associated with attacks on central Israel, Ben Gurion Airport and other claimed targets. Most launches have been intercepted or caused limited physical damage, but successful penetration near Ben Gurion Airport in May 2025 disrupted commercial aviation and demonstrated the strategic effect that even an occasional missile leak can produce.
