Overview
X-BAT is the autonomous VTOL combat-aircraft program of Shield AI. The company unveiled the aircraft on 21 October 2025, according to its announcement published the following day. X-BAT remains in development and had not flown as of 30 September 2026, GeekWire reported. Shield AI still targets flight testing in 2026, while Armor Harris told Aviation Week that the first VTOL flight could occur in late 2026 or early 2027.
