Ukraine turned a sea drone into an offshore launch pad for FPV strikes on Crimean radars

HUR's Magura boats have stopped being only anti-ship weapons. Carrying FPV drones, they now put short-range strike aircraft over coastal targets that land-launched drones cannot reach.

Ukraine's military intelligence directorate said on Aug. 3 that its Group 13 unit used the newest Magura naval platforms, configured as carriers for first-person-view drones, to strike two Russian radar assets in occupied Crimea in late July. The FPV drones hit a command vehicle from a Podlet radar complex and a Parol-4 identification friend-or-foe interrogator, the Kyiv Independent reported.

The boat never went ashore. It held station offshore and released the drone that finished the run, per Euromaidan Press. That is the whole change. Magura began as a one-way attack boat and grew into a missile-armed platform. HUR says Group 13 operators have destroyed nine Russian vessels and damaged five, along with three helicopters and two Black Sea Fleet fighter jets.
