Ukraine's long-range drones are now hitting the inputs to Russia's drone war, while Kyiv intercepted just one of 27 Russian ballistic missiles for lack of Patriot rounds.

Ukrainian drones struck the Engels airfield and an oil refinery in Russia's Saratov region overnight on Aug. 2, both roughly 600 kilometers from the border, President Volodymyr Zelensky said, per the BBC. An oil depot in Kaluga region and a drone launch site in Bryansk were also hit. Engels hosts the Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers Moscow uses to launch cruise missiles at Ukraine. Russia's Defense Ministry claimed 635 drones were shot down or intercepted that night. Saratov Governor Roman Busargin said two people were killed and civilian infrastructure damaged.
