Overview

President Volodymyr Zelensky officially announced the first combat use of Fire Point's Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile FP-7 on 1 October 2026. The specific target and results were undisclosed, and the strike had not been independently verified, The War Zone reported. Fire Point's product page claims a payload of up to 200 kg, range of up to 250 km and maximum speed of 1,500 m/s.

The missile uses solid propellant and launches from an inclined guide rather than a vertical launch canister. Fire Point has presented the underlying architecture as scalable: the baseline FP-7 is a surface-to-surface weapon, while the related FP-7.x is being developed as an anti-ballistic interceptor for the European Freyja programme. The much larger FP-9 is a separate missile rather than a simple FP-7 modification.

Zelensky identified production as the next step after the combat announcement, without disclosing a production quantity, delivery schedule or output rate. Fire Point chief executive Iryna Terekh said in a 25 September interview that FP-7 was still undergoing codification, UNITED24 Media reported. FP-7 production totals, sustained output rates, order quantities and serial-delivery dates remain not publicly established, according to The War Zone's reporting and Fire Point's statements reported by Militarnyi.
